The MITE Research Seminars start again!

We’re excited to announce the 2nd cycle of the online MITE Research Seminars, a space to discuss about research in language and literature, history of literature, philosophy, computer science, digital humanities … and who knows where the conversations will lead!

We will start on December 12, 10:00-12:00 (Rome Time), with a talk by Evelyn Gius, professor at the University of Darmstadt, Institute of Linguistics and Literary Studies, Germany.

Title of talk: From Theory to Text – How to integrate Computation and Literary Studies.

Abstract: In this talk, I will address the challenges posed by text analysis in computational literary studies, focusing on the gap between concepts and computation. I will propose to follow an input-process-output workflow by which one can move from a theoretical foundation of a research interest to computational text analysis. I will use examples from my own research in Computational Narratology to showcase how this can be put into practice.
