I work in the ICT field, mainly interested in theories, systems and methodologies for knowledge representation, acquisition, sharing and retrieval. I'm currently employed at the Italian National Research Council, Laboratory for Applied Ontology (LOA-ISTC-CNR, Rome, Italy) as a research scientist, where I'm coordinating the UE project BONy and collaborating with the NEON UE project, and at Reinvent Technologies Inc. (Vancouver, Canada) as an R\&D director. Formerly, I've been employed as a research scientist for seven years at the FBK-irst (Trento, Italy), where I participated to several research projects (MEANING, OntoText, FIRB-israel), at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, working on the PrestoSpace Project, and I worked as a consultant for several ICT companies. I got my Ph.D. in ICT at the University of Trento in 2005 and my degree in Philosophy at the University of Bologna in 2001. My academic work includes the publication of more than thirty scientific publications in top level conference proceedings and international journals, editing of books, membership to program committees of international conferences (ACL, LREC, EKAW), organization of international conferences (EKAW 2008), teaching at international summer schools, invited talks at prestigious european institutions, writing and direction of research projects. My industrial work is mainly focalized in leading know how transfer from academy to industry, designing high level architectures for intelligent systems, writing technology transfer projects and interpreting the costumer needs to maximize the social impact of technology.
